Early hand wrought iron grab lock or blanket chest lock. Lock is mounted on the inside of blanket chests and when the lid is closed the lock automatically "grabs" the top keeper and locks the chest. The key must be used to unlock and open the lid. The top edge of this lock features decorative notching shown in close-up. Lock measures 5 3/4" high x 3 1/4" wide. The key hole center from the top of lock is 3 3/4". All of the parts are original, and ready to be installed.
